A couple people off my team will take a beer or two to a tournament, but they never break them out until we are done with our last race of the day. Generally it is during the down time between scoring and awards, or is enjoyed while breaking down on the final day.

Seems like most people know better than to get out there in the lanes if they aren't totally there. Someone getting sloppy and drunk would be dangerous to the dogs and the humans. No matter what feelings might be hurt by telling someone they are too drunk to participate, it is not worth the potential injury just to spare their feelings.
