Thank God! I so relate...
Also, I thought I was the only one searching for team color items! LOL I was starting to get embarrassed to even pull my stuff out! Latest is a collar with his name and UTB embroidered on it!

Great list guys...

oh no.
we've got it over here in California.

there's a 1983 1/2 Vanagon Westfalia sitting in the driveway primarily for flyball.

We've gone from 1 dog and a foster at this time last year to 3 dogs and a foster. And that seems normal.

We see our flyball family more often than our "normal" friends or family.

We also have a now amazing knowledge of the "good" drive-thru's on most major California highways.

and we now get calls from everyone we've every met who works in a local shelter or with a rescue to take a look as a "good dog sport prospect up for adoption".

Is it too late for me?

My name is Deanna and I'm a flyball addict. It started as a simple hobby but quickly grew into something else. At first it was just little things; buying my toothbrush or dog gear in team colors. Quickly it became more serious; constantly searching ebay for matching shoes or buying any serving tray in team colors so our crating area matches.

Since starting I've had a baby and I'm afraid that I'm pushing my addiction on her. Half of the clothes in her closet are in team colors as well as sippy cups, bowls, spoons, etc. I'm afraid her first word is going to be "Ready...."

Is there a support group I can join? ;)

I used to think it would be great to meet Jackie, now I'm afraid she has a much more serious (and highly infectious) strain of the disease! I could end up in the streets, panhandling for tournament entry fees!

Just this past week Deb and I started (guardedly)talking about going to that "big, major, out-of-region tournament, with a flyball seminar" being our annual vacation.

Anybody looking for a time-share in a non-flyball area? Cheap? It's close to a nice lake?!??

That is the other "obession" finding new names not used 100 times over for you "new" flyball dog! I have a list....

We have the Toy hauler 5th wheel AND the 15 passenger van! I have 4 sets of kennels - so I don't have to move any - house kennels, van kennels, trailer kennels and fold down wire crates that are in the utility trailer we pull behind the 15 pass van - that also carries the boxes, balls, tugs, clothes when we don't take the 5th wheel!

Our CPA keeps bugging us that we have to do something to write off at least some of the expense...sigh!

Well, one good thing about this post is that it proves that I'm not alone in my flyball preoccupation. In fact it's Nationwide.

I'ts nice to prove that I'm not as certifiable as some in my family may think....
The aquired obsession is definately part of the game for dogs and humans!

How about this great name for a new pup? Addicted!

Connie, that is so perfect! *LOL* One of our team members forwarded it to our team's Yahoo Group (another flyball-ism) and everyone agrees it sounds like us!

I have to add one though:
Your weekly grocery budget now includes sharp cheese, peanut butter, and roast beef... for the DOGS! ;)

Awesome post!
